As I state in this sermon, there are 41 citations in the four Gospels where Jesus walks away from someone or allows someone to walk away from Him, without there being any reconciliation. Plus, you've got Matthew 10:14: "If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet." And even when talking about children, Jesus warns us that faith in him can actually separate families: "Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.You will be hated by everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved." (Matt. 10:21-22)
